On Blu-ray - David Hare gets to the essence of Luis Bunuel's EL (Mexico, 1953)

From Bunuel's sublime El
The virginal choirboy,
the submissive priest,
the intervening eyes of the movie's leading man Arturo de Cordova,
and the object of his passion, the nylon shod legs of Delia Garces.
The final screen shows our Sadean hero meticulously curating his collection of sewing paraphenalia, lifted directly from the pages of the 120 Journées de Sodom, as written by the master.
One of the greatest comedic works of blasphemy in cinema.
