I'm very happy to report on the debut of the new, local blu ray label, Chameleon.
It specialises in Asian cinema and has been created for an audience badly overlooked in past years. And the people behind this boutique label definitely know their Asian films.
The first tranche of BRs consists of the Johnnie To crime pics, Exiled and Breaking News and from Japan the quirky cult comedy, Summer Time Machine Blues.
As the sequel to To's The Mission, Exiled is a near perfect choice for Chameleon and bodes well for the future.
Each film is a Special Edition packed with extras and majority input from local academics and cinephiles. The titles can be purchased individually or as a three pack.
For film enthusiasts in Oz, we can now access quality Asian movies without being gouged for postage by similar overseas companies.
With the Imprint label and now Chameleon, Australia is punching well above its weight when it comes to quality DVD distribution.
