FIRST PROGRAM HINTS
Cinema Reborn’s full program for 2025 will be announced in mid-March and our supporters will be able to book for the entire seasons in Sydney at the Ritz Cinemas Randwick and in Melbourne at the Lido Cinemas Hawthorn from that date. Our website will have short notes and links to bookings and you will be able to pick up a copy of our leaflet at each cinema.
In the meantime, we can give our first program hint of what’s to come. Starting early in 2025, Ritz Cinemas Randwick and Lido Cinemas Hawthorn will be presenting the first complete retrospective in Australia of one of the major figures in 20th century cinema. The season will conclude when the director’s final film is presented as part of Cinema Reborn’s 2025 season. We can’t share the details yet, but we can say that when it was released, the director’s final film won the Grand Prix at Cannes and the BAFTA for Best Foreign Language Film.
All up in 2025 Cinema Reborn will present 20 programmes including an expanded program devoted to newly-restored Australian films.

A TRIBUTE TO TOM ZUBRYCKI
Tom Zubrycki is one of Australia's leading documentary film-makers. For over forty years he has chronicled Australian society. His awards include the Stanley Hawes Award in recognition of an outstanding contribution to Australian Documentary, the Cecil Holmes Award from the Australian Directors Guild, and an International Emmy.
Cinema Reborn, OZDOX and the Randwick Ritz are proud to present a screening of newly restored copies of two of Tom’s highly regarded landmark films: KEMIRA – DIARY OF A STRIKE (1984) and HOMELANDS (1993). Tom will introduce the films and take part in a conversation about his life, career and documentary film-making in Australia. The evening will be hosted by Maree Delofski - filmmaker, scholar and historian.

CHARITABLE DONATIONS
Once again Cinema Reborn has established a page to enable our supporters to make tax-deductible donations to support our work. Our organisation is run by a group of film industry professionals, working critics, curators and film conservation specialists. All work in an entirely voluntary capacity. Nevertheless there are significant costs, most notably our screening fees, which have to be met each year and we are always grateful for the financial support we receive that defrays these costs and charges. If you would like to make a donation you may do so via via the attached link established by the Australian Cultural Fund which enables small unincorporated organisations like ours to use a service which would otherwise not be easily accessible. To make a donation any time between now and the end of Cinema Reborn 2025 click on this link
DATES FOR 2025
