CINEMA REBORN - Updates and a link to a simpler online ticketing system

The Spot, Randwick
As we move into the final phase of preparations for CINEMA REBORN 2019, the Ritz Cinema in Randwick’s delightful little precinct The Spot has prepared an easy to use page on their website which will take you through to all eleven titles and make booking easy.

Seats to all sessions will be available right up to the start times. The theatre we are using at the Ritz has double the capacity of last year’s venue and for those of you with a sense of nostalgia it has both upstairs and downstairs sections.

That’s the way it used to be back in the days of big venues like the various capital city Regent Theatres. Nowadays however the Ritz has the modern additions of a bar, café and a lift to assist the disabled.

If you want to check out or book anything in the program you can Click through here. Otherwise tickets to all sessions will be available at the door right up to screening times.

At present our top sellers are A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH (Powell & Pressburger, UK, 1946), IN A LONELY PLACE (Nicholas Ray, USA, 1950), WANDA (Barbara Loden, USA, 1970) and MEMORIES OF UNDERDEVELOPMENT (Tomas Gutierrez Alea, Cuba, 1968). Don’t delay if you want to be there.

We are once again publishing a comprehensive catalogue containing extensive notes on our program written by Angelica Waite, Rod Bishop, Adrian Martin, Cristina Alvarez Lopez, Mark Pierce, Jane Mills, Peter Hourigan, David Hare, Andrew Pike, Ross Cooper and Eddie Cockrell. The notes on the Cinema Reborn website  are a little different to those which will be in the catalogue on sale for a mere $2 at the information desk in the foyer of the Ritz throughout the festival.

If you want to check on any bits of news then don’t hesitate to click through for a glance at our Facebook homepage and our Facebook Events page. You can also follow Cinema Reborn on Twitter

We’re currently putting up some information about who is introducing each program and so far there’s some notes about Peter Thompson (A Matter of Life and Death), Sylvie Le Clezio (Memories of Underdevelopment) and ABC Radio National’s Jason Di Rosso (Lucky to be A Woman).

….and don’t forget if you are planning on making a tax-deductible donation to Cinema Reborn via the Australian Cultural Fund there’s no time like the present.
