We’ve got the Cinema Reborn program down to hopefully its
final schedule.
Max Ophuls
Sixteen feature films, from four cont-inents and nine
coun-tries. All will be shown under perfect screening conditions at the
Australian Film, Television & Radio School in the Entertainment Quarter in
Moore Park, Sydney from 3-7 May.
Yasujiro Ozu
Highlights include works by French masters from the 30s, a rarely seen film by Japanese master Yasujiro Ozu, a couple of Australian premieres and a selection of
Australian films gathered from a variety of sources including the National Film
& Sound Archive of Australia, the ABC, the National Archives of Australia
and the University of Technology, Sydney.
Med Hondo
It’s a heady mixture of restored classics
in brilliant new copies and films that warrant special attention because they
have been overlooked for too long.
If you are at all curious then head here for to the Cinema
Reborn website and discoverthe Complete Program.
Many of the titles have links to comprehensive program notes elsewhere on the
Website and there are links to give you directions about the venue.
Jean Renoir
There will be more info published when the festival is
officially launched on Tuesday 20 March, the day when subscription tickets go on sale. Stay tuned for further news.
