Orson Welles THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND finally screens.

News comes via Wellesnet of a first screening of the long lost final film
by Orson Welles The Other Side of the Wind.

According to the piece on Wellesnet linked above Netflix holds the worldwide distribution rights and has indicated that it would like to premiere the finished film at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

The photo below was just posted by critic Joseph McBride on his Facebook page and features Welles directing Peter Bogdanovich and McBride himself in a scene for the film. (Click on the images to enlarge them.)

....some hours later....in fact I'm now informed by Joseph McBride via a Facebook post that, unlike the link I posted above "It's not Welles's final film. That's a myth that probably will never die. In fact, he shot films for nine years after the last shooting on OTHER WIND in 1976. His final film was ORSON WELLES' MAGIC SHOW, which is unfinished but largely shot. Welles died of a heart attack in 1985 while he was in the midst of typing directions for more shooting on that film and for a one-man JULIUS CAESAR he was supposed to start shooting that morning at UCLA with Gary Graver."
