Dear Subscribers and friends of Cinema Reborn
This note is just to give the first advice that the Cinema Reborn Organising Committee has reached agreement with the Australian Film Television and Radio School to hold a second edition of the festival from 2-5 May 2019. Please put the dates in your diary as we know that all sorts of other events will loom on the horizon and compete for attention.
Subscriptions will go on sale early in the new year and subscribers will be eligible to attend all sessions as part of their subscription, including Opening Night on Thursday 2 May at 6.30 pm, as part of their subscription
All told we expect to present about twenty sessions of newly restored classics and archival material drawn from film archives and commercials suppliers around the world. Some sessions held over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 4 and 5 May will give subscribers a choice of program.
There will be more news as we settle program details but one thing we can advise is that we hope to present our first ‘cine-concert’, a classic silent film with live piano accompaniment.
Our Organising Committee has been expanded and is already contemplating a selection to be made from the seemingly vast number off restorations being made by the world’s archives and film studios. It will be a difficult choice.

We will be launching a new website for the 2019 event as soon as we have some program information to convey.
2-5 May 2019 promises an exciting time for lovers of classic cinema.
