A day out tracking down Hector Guimard's buildings in the 16th Arrondissement

Last Christmas I was given a book called "Metropolitain" by the Brit author and train enthusiast Andrew Martin. It was the first time that I became aware of the contribution of Hector Guimard the man who designed the metal floral art work that originally adorned the entrances of the Paris Metro. Guimard was an architect who, around the turn of the 19th/20th centuries designed a number of remarkable apartment blocks in the 16th Arrondissement. They are still there and most are in very good order. Here are some photos plus a picture of the plaque erected by the city of Paris to recognise Guimard's work. Remarkable examples of Art Nouveau still in prime condition.
